Condo vs Hotel

     There are a lot of options out there when you are planning for a longer trip.  Our summer vacation ended up being a last minute trip.  As soon as I found out we were going I had to quickly do some internet searches. At first I started searching hotels because I just assumed it would be our only option last minute.  Some of the hotels that were left for our time frame were pretty cheap and they looked it  to, also the ones left did not have a kitchen in it which we were going to need for our length of trip.  We were planning for a 5 day trip and most of the hotel rooms that would fit our needs that were left were a little pricey.

So I decided why not look at condos?  In the summer months the condos only run Saturday to Saturday, so we would have to extend our stay…  OK I’m in!  After plugging in some dates and searching through some condos I had found a pretty reasonable one, one block from the beach. It was a 2 bedroom, 1 bath, full kitchen condo, but had  no  pool.  The price was cheaper than the hotel rooms even with adding the extra 2 days.

I wasn’t real sure I wanted to be a block off the beach though, so I didn’t purchase anything and just slept on it.  Good thing I did because in the morning from doing all those searches a reality company came up on my Facebook page.  Now I know this freaks a lot of people out but not me, this is how I find most of my deals so I welcome it. For the  time we want to go this reality company is offering a 20% discount. I searched through every condo they had to offer in our price range and found a 2 bedroom, 2 bath, full kitchen, ocean view condo that does have a pool for $593.25.

Now of course this is not the final price there are add ons and taxes etc. A couple add ons are they ask if you want sheets and towels, That is an extra $35.00 per room which comes to $70.00 extra dollars.I prefer to save my money and bring my own, so on to the next. The departure cleaning, $85.00 after careful consideration we decided to go ahead and add this option.  We don’t want any unnecessary charges if it wasn’t cleaned the way they wanted so we thought it was worth it. So with fees, taxes, and the departure cleaning the total price came to $853.00, which was about $50.00 more than the first one I found 1 block from the beach, but it was still cheaper than getting one hotel room with no kitchen. You can find many deals on places to stay you just have to keep searching and have lots of patience.
